Harvard Data Science Initiative (HDSI)

Funding at the HDSI represents Harvard’s commitment to shaping the new science of data. It illuminates the new interdisciplinary pathways that our faculty, students, and partners will use to solve real problems, in a world with critical ethical challenges regarding facts, data, and truth. The HDSI Research Fund encompasses the former Competitive Research Fund, Trust in Science Fund, and Postdoctoral Fellows Research Fund and supports projects that employ data science to promote scholarly research that advances a field and that have the potential for real-world impact. The Faculty Special Projects Fund supports one-time data science opportunities for which other funding is not readily available. The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Impact Computing Project aims to reimagine data science and high-performance computing to identify potential solutions for society’s most complex challenges.
