[**Human Frontier Science Program (HSFP): Postdoctoral Fellowships**](http://www.hfsp.org/funding/postdoctoral-fellowships)

**Eligibility**: A research doctorate (PhD) or a doctoral-level degree comparable to a PhD with equivalent experience in basic research must have been conferred within the three years prior to the invited full proposal submission deadline and at least one full-length original research publications as lead author. Applicants may be from any country and of any nationality. However, candidates cannot apply for a fellowship to work in the country of their nationality and must propose a research institution in a host country they are not a national of and is a change from their current country.

**Deadline Month**: May (LOI); September (full proposal, if invited)

**Description**: HFSP postdoctoral fellowships enable early career scientists to broaden their research skills and scope of expertise by moving into new areas of study while working in a new country. Two categories of postdoctoral fellowships are offered for fellows to move to a new country and a new institution to gain exposure to fundamental biological questions, and develop expertise in the life sciences. Term Fellowships (LTF) are for applicants with a PhD in a biological discipline, who will broaden their expertise by proposing a project in the life sciences which is significantly different from their previous PhD or postdoctoral work. Cross-Disciplinary Fellowships (CDF) are for applicants with a PhD from outside the life sciences (e.g., in physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering or computer sciences), who have not worked in the life sciences before. Both fellowships provide three years of salary and research/travel allowance.
