RAS Coffee Club

Date:

Tuesday, November 1, 2016, 9:15am to 10:15am

Location:

Lamon Library Cafe, back tables

Once a sponsored award is in place and spending begins, you may encounter questions from your PI about making arrangements to pay or work with another institution, corporate entity or individual.  How can you help make sure that your PI has access to everything s/he needs to accomplish the project, and that his or her rights and products are protected? How do you know when to use an MOU, a DUA, or a vendor or billing agreement? Not sure whether to contact OSP, OGC or OTD? This month's coffee club will focus on assisting departments with (a) identifying agreements, (b) routing those agreements and (c) understanding how each transaction fits into the broader landscape of sponsored administration.  This information can be used by attendees to identify internal challenges in agreement workflows and leverage existing resources that might make working through the process easier for everyone. Tiffany Blackman, Senior Director of Pre-Award Services (FAS) will share her experiences as an OSP contracts officer and welcome your input on how your colleagues in FAS-RAS can help.

Mandy Ellenwood and Charlotte Gallant will facilitate. Space is limited and coffee’s on us! Please try and arrive at 9 if you’re getting refreshments so we can start chatting at 9:15.

RAS Coffee Club is held in the Lamont Library Café at the tables in the back.
