Dr. Basavappa will present an overview of the Early Independence, New Innovator, Pioneer, and Transformative Research Awards that are part of the NIH Common Fund High-Risk, High-Reward Research Program. These awards support exceptionally creative scientists pursuing unusually innovative and impactful research projects.

Dr. Emily Balskus, Morris Kahn Associate Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, will join Dr. Basavappa to share her experience as a recipient of the NIH New Innovator Award.

Faculty, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and administrators are all welcome to attend this event. Light refreshments will be served.
