GMAS will alert the Principal Investigator (PI) and the PI’s department that the account is ready for setup. The department and the Office for Sponsored Programs (OSP) then work together to obtain approvals and define the account structure, and an Action Memo is issued to the PI. If not completed at the proposal stage, and PI and all other covered individuals must also take the Mandatory [FAS PI Training](https://trainingportal.harvard.edu/Saba/Web_spf/NA1PRD0068/app/me/learningeventdetail/cours000000000019965;spf-url=common%2Fledetail%2Fcours000000000019965) and the university’s [Research Security Training](https://trainingportal.harvard.edu/Saba/Web_spf/NA1PRD0068/app/me/learningeventdetail/cours000000000044202?classId=dowbt000000000026041) before an award can be set up.
