Cost Transfer Policy Training Session

Date: Thursday, July 14, 2016, 9:30am to 11:10am

Location: Cambridge, Lamont Library Forum Room

Does your job require you to manage federal sponsored awards? Do you find yourself wondering if you have all the facts? Are you responsible for understanding the financial components of research? Are you responsible for transferring costs on research projects? If you answered yes, this training opportunity is for you. The Office for Sponsored Programs and our Research Schools are hosting in-person training sessions throughout June and July about the requirements of cost transfers for the University Research Administration community.

Federal regulations require institutions to create policies and procedures that support federal cost accounting standards in research. To increase compliance with federal regulations, Harvard University is committed to offering training opportunities. The policy information training session is designed to:

  • inform the participants of Federal guidelines regarding cost transfers;
  • educate the participants on the Harvard University cost transfer policy with policy updates highlighted;
  • identify correct and incorrect cost transfer circumstances; and
  • explain the process of cost transfer processing

The session is designed for all employees involved in managing federal sponsored awards at Harvard University. We encourage you to read the Cost Transfer Policy and take the University on-line Cost Transfer Training prior to attending.
