FAS Guidance for Faculty Supplemental Salary during Medical Leave

Faculty whose supplemental salary is paid from non-sponsored funds will see no change in their supplemental salary payouts while they are on a medical leave.

However, supplemental salary paid from sponsored funding may be pro-rated during the fiscal year of a medical leave if a faculty member is unable to commit to the requisite effort on her/his sponsored project(s) over the course of the project year.

Individual plans should be reviewed with Nuala McGowen, Senior Director of Research Finance and Compliance, to ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor policies.
